We need to fix some 'overmalloc' cases before it can be enabled by default.

527e824293 strchr and strrchr are macros when compiling with optimisation in gcc, so we can't redefine them. damn.

87fbb7092b The big character set handling changeover! 
This commit gets rid of all our old codepage handling and replaces it with
iconv. All internal strings in Samba are now in "unix" charset, which may
be multi-byte. See internals.doc and my posting to samba-technical for
a more complete explanation.

d095b5249c - added test for vasprintf 
- cleaned up GNUC printf attribute macros
- added enum handling in mkproto
- removed non-vararg code
- made slprintf and vslprintf just macros for snprintf and vsnprintf
- don't need slprintf code any more
