libsmbclient uses the smbc_init->smbc_get_auth_data_fn() provided
workgroup/domain in initial connections, but then switches to the
default smb.conf workgroup/domain when handling DFS referrals.

[MS-DFSC] 3.2.1.1 and 3.2.1.2 states that DFS targets with the same site
location or relative cost are placed in random order in a DFS referral
response.
libsmbclient currently resolves DFS referrals on every API call, always
using the first entry in the referral response. With random ordering,
libsmbclient may open a new server connection, rather than reuse an
existing (cached) connection established in a previous DFS referred API
call.
This change sees libsmbclient check the connection cache for any of the
DFS referral response entries before creating a new connection.
This change is based on a patch by Har Gagan Sahai
<SHarGagan@novell.com>.

The max_data parameter of trans2/nttrans calls are not bound
to cli->max_xmit. Even with cli->max_xmit, which means the max
size of the whole SMB pdu, we would get fragmented trans2/nttrans
replies. That's why we can also use our maximum, which is CLI_BUFFER_SIZE.

This fixes a bug when using encrypted transport and DFS links. Found
by my basic DFS torture test, which I'll check in next. Testing *rocks* :-).
Jeremy.
All successful calls to cli_session_setup() *must* be followed by
calls to cli_init_creds() to stash the credentials we successfully
connected with. There were 2 codepaths where this was missing. This
caused smbclient to be unable to open the \srvsvc pipe to do an RPC
netserverenum, and cause it to fall back to a RAP netserverenum,
which uses DOS codepage conversion rather than the full UCS2 of
RPC, so the returned characters were not correct (unless the DOS
codepage was set correctly). Phew. That was fun to track down :-).
Jeremy.
consumed_ucs is the number of bytes
of the UCS2 path consumed not counting any
terminating null. We need to convert
back to unix charset and count again
to get the number of bytes consumed from
the incoming path.
Jeremy, I think the ability to say
smbclient //foo/bar -I <ip-address> -p 139
making the called name to "foo" got lost with 3d2d0203. Was this removed
deliberately? If so, please revert this patch. If not, please merge
appropriately.
Thanks,
Volker
callers pass in a struct user_auth_info * instead. This commit causes
smbc_set_credentials() to print out a message telling callers to use
smbc_set_credentials_with_fallback() instead, as smbc_set_credentials()
has a broken API (no SMBCCTX * pointer). No more global variables used
in the connection manager API for client dfs calls.
Jeremy.
the problem that stops libsmbclient being thread safe. Subsidiary
DFS connections are now hung off a list inside the cli_state struct.
Much more to do in order to get libsmbclient to thread safety, but
this is a good start.
Jeremy.
