In future it also allows to specifiy another delemiter than '/'
in order to use the resulting buffer as part of a file/directory

This way the server_id_str_buf() can just be a tiny wrapper using
'\0' as delemiter.

The NULL assert is not really required, it will crash nicely if that's

sscanf overwrites vars as numbers come in. So the first sscanf will
overwrite "vnn", although it can't scan the whole thing. This leads
to the string "1234" return .vnn=1234, pid=1234. Bad.
While there, save the temp variables. The SCNu32/64 thingies look
ugly, but it's actually c99.

This helps ensure the string cannot be ambiguous, while also ensuring
that it remains simple in the non-cluster case.
The asymmetry of reading get_my_vnn() but writing based on
NONCLUSTER_VNN is acceptable because in the non-clustered case, they
are equal, and in the clustered case we will print the full string.
