clang complains:
../../source4/torture/basic/denytest.c:1805:11: error: variable 'tdif' set but not used [-Werror,-Wunused-but-set-variable]
int64_t tdif;
^
That is, the variable is initialised and updated but the value is
never used.
Perhaps it is meant to be used in the nearby torture_comment() call,
but it has been this was since commit
cb1cff90f165d82cbbf1dd87e475a1b13984d45e from 2004. Just drop it.

Upstream subunit makes a ":" after commands optional, so I've fixed any
places where we might trigger commands accidently. I've filed a bug
about this in subunit.
In order to implement root_fid in the s4 SMB server we need to declare
it as a handle type, just as for other fnum values in SMB. This
required some extensive (but simple) changes in many bits of code.
I've added a "--target=onefs" which lists expected deviation in the
OneFS SMB server implementation compared to a Windows machine.
I've added this in a generic way using a list of module specific
parameters. This list currently only contains the absence of
SACL support but will be added to as additional server differences
are defined.
I'd liked to use this abstraction for defining the differences between
a WinXP and Win7 server as well.
Test several thousand permutations of create mask and sharemodes on file
and directory opens.
These tests use a checked-in results table derived from a WinXP server to
verify correct server behavior.

There are still a few tidyups of old FSF addresses to come (in both s3
and s4). More commits soon.

output in the testsuite rather than just True or False for a
set of tests.
The aim is to use this for:
* known failure lists (run all tests and detect tests that
started working or started failing). This
would allow us to get rid of the RPC-SAMBA3-* tests
* nicer torture output
* simplification of the testsuite system
* compatibility with other unit testing systems
* easier usage of smbtorture (being able to run one test
and automatically set up the environment for that)
This is still a work-in-progress; expect more updates over the next couple of
days.

metze on his quest to unify the ntvfs strucures for the smb and smb2

FLAGS2_READ_PERMIT_EXECUTE bit, which only affects readx, so I added a
readx.in.read_for_execute flag instead.

S390. This is an attempt to avoid the panic we're seeing in the
automatic builds.
The main fixes are:
- assumptions that sizeof(size_t) == sizeof(int), mostly in printf formats
- use of NULL format statements to perform dn searches.
- assumption that sizeof() returns an int
(This used to be commit a58ea6b3854973b694d2b1e22323ed7eb00e3a3f)
less likely that anyone will use pstring for new code
- got rid of winbind_client.h from includes.h. This one triggered a
huge change, as winbind_client.h was including system/filesys.h and
defining the old uint32 and uint16 types, as well as its own
pstring and fstring.

- cleaned up some talloc usage in various files
I'd like to get to the point that we have no calls to talloc(), at
which point we will rename talloc_p() to talloc(), to encourage
everyone to use the typesafe functions.

- change smbcli_read/write to take void * for the buffers to match read(2)/write(2)
all this fixes a lot of gcc-4 warnings

this test demonstrates how w2k3 handles the special semantics of
DENY_DOS when 2 opens happen on the same connection. The 2nd open
doesn't actually do a NTFS open, it happens as a secondary reference
to the same internal file handle in the CIFS layer. The evidence is
that the 2nd open shares the same POSITION_INFORMATION field as the
first open, but only for the special DENY_DOS cases that would
normally be refused.
