Now I've done this I might be able to reduce the probe
timeout and reduce the backoff algorithm, going back
to checking every cache time seconds (5 mins by default),
as the parent or forked domain child will never block.

(This used to be commit d0add5f946cf63ea43067e8e935876b5346d11de)
test. Phew - that was painful :-). But what it means
is that we now implement lock cancels and I can add
lock cancels into POSIX lock handling which will fix
the fast/slow system call issue with cifsfs !
Jeremy.
(This used to be commit f1a9cf075b87c76c032d19da0168424c90f6cb3c)
is produced when a process exits abnormally.
First, we coalesce the core dumping code so that we greatly improve our
odds of being able to produce a core file, even in the case of a memory
fault. I've removed duplicates of dump_core() and split it in two to
reduce the amount of work needed to actually do the dump.
Second, we refactor the exit_server code path to always log an explanation
and a stack trace. My goal is to always produce enough log information
for us to be able to explain any server exit, though there is a risk
that this could produce too much log information on a flaky network.
Finally, smbcontrol has gained a smbd fault injection operation to test
the changes above. This is only enabled for developer builds.
(This used to be commit 56bc02d64498eb3faf89f0c5452b9299daea8e95)
that have open file handles to allow them to correctly
implement delete on close. There is a further correctness
fix I'm intending to add to this to cope with different share
paths, but not right now...

(This used to be commit 932e337db8788e75344e1c7cf1ef009d090cb039)
* \PIPE\unixinfo
* winbindd's {group,alias}membership new functions
* winbindd's lookupsids() functionality
* swat (trunk changes to be reverted as per discussion with Deryck)
(This used to be commit 939c3cb5d78e3a2236209b296aa8aba8bdce32d3)
for smb -> smb lock release). Adds new PENDING_LOCK type to lockdb
(does not interfere with existing locks).

(This used to be commit 766928bbba1e597c9c2b12458dd8d37e6080593e)
prompt dmalloc to log information about what happening, so you can see
in flight why smbd is getting bloated.
(This used to be commit bcb443c5c4bf97fe6b5b0993e42496c2e64f0124)
To speed up operations with the lpq command, it's now run in a separate
asynchronous process.
Opening the Printers folder on NT is now fast ;-) I think even faster than
with a ** server
Jeremy, you should look at that patch to include it in 2.2.3

(This used to be commit 8ef9dff3074e7979579ce66a204e8ec7bf62a587)
easier to add new message types to messages.h without breaking old
binaries
- added a MSG_FORCE_ELECTION message to force nmbd to hold an election
(This used to be commit f1c49ca7ce56bc39259041a71479e84ebf53eeca)
The motivation for this system is to replace the UDP message for
oplocks, but this commit only does the "set debug level" message.
