b9b26be174 r20986: Commit the prototype of the nss_info plugin interface.
This allows a provider to supply the homedirectory, etc...
attributes for a user without requiring support in core
winbindd code. The idmap_ad.c module has been modified
to provide the idmap 'ad' library as well as the rfc2307 and sfu
"winbind nss info" support.

The SID/id mapping is working in idmap_ad but the nss_info
still has a few quirks that I'm in the process of resolving.

37cc3e3d62 r20951: Remove the DOM_SID field in the struct idmap_domain and bounce
domain SID lookups through the struct winbindd_domain *domain_list
by searching by name.

Refactor the order lookup when searching for the correct idmap_domain
to a single function and remove the requirement that the default
domain be listed first in the config file.

I would still like to make the idmap_domain array a linked list and
remove the existing code which makes use of indexes into the list.

Basic testing with tdb pans out ok.

d5206610cd r20931: This changes the notify infrastructure from a polling-based to an event-driven
based approach. The only remaining hook into the backend is now

	void *(*notify_add)(TALLOC_CTX *mem_ctx,
			    struct event_context *event_ctx,
			    files_struct *fsp, uint32 *filter);

(Should we put this through the VFS, so that others can more easily plug in?)

The trick here is that the backend can pick filter bits that the main smbd
should not handle anymore. Thanks to tridge for this idea.

The backend can notify the main smbd process via

void notify_fsp(files_struct *fsp, uint32 action, char *name);

The core patch is not big, what makes this more than 1800 lines are the
individual backends that are considerably changed but can be reviewed
one by one.

Based on this I'll continue with inotify now.

c9a14ea19f r20883: W00t! I now understand how "delete on close" really
works - even with the strange "initial delete on close"
semantics. The "initial delete on close" flag isn't
committed to the share mode db until the handle is
closed, and is discarded if any real "delete on close"
was set. This allows me to remove the "initial_delete_on_close"
flag from the share db, and move it into a BOOL in files_struct.
Warning ! You must do a make clean after this. Cope with
the wrinkle in directory delete on close which is done
differently from files. We now pass all Samba4 smbtortute
BASE-DELETE tests except for the one checking that files
can't be created in a directory which has the delete on
close set (possibly expensive to fix).

200bd10b32 r20442: Slight rewrite of the change notify infrastructure. This now survives the
first of the raw-notify subtests, the one-level test_notify_dir without any
flags around yet.

The tricky part was getting the data structures right, I hope the next tests
don't let that fall over.

fsp->notify is now by default NULL, meaning that nobody has issued a
changenotify call. This means nobody is interested in changes for this
directory.

If that has happened, notify_change_buf collects the changes if no current
request is outstanding, and it collects the requests if no change has happened
since the last request.

Happy New Year, somewhere on this planet it's already 2007 :-)

reported by James. Ensure that this function allocates

Remove separate free functions for conn->ngroups
and conn->nt_user_token as they are now always
talloc'ed off the conn->mem_ctx. Future optimization
will be to remove conn->mem_ctx and make all objects
pointed to in the conn struct talloc'ed off conn itself.

ecf90c495e r19991: Sorry for this 2000-liner...
The main thing here is a rewrite of srv_winreg_nt.c. The core functionality
has moved to registry/reg_api.c which is then usable by the rest of Samba as
well.

On that way it fixes creating keys with more than one element in the
path. This did not work before.

Two things that sneaked in (sorry :-) is the change of some routines from
NTSTATUS to WERROR the removed "parent" argument to regkey_open_internal.

5e44fc4cd4 r18009: Fixes bug 4026.
This completes the work Jeremy began last week, disambiguating the meaning of
c_time. (In POSIX terminology, c_time means "status Change time", not "create
time".) All uses of c_time, a_time and m_time have now been replaced with
change_time, access_time, and write_time, and when creation time is intended,
create_time is used.

Additionally, the capability of setting and retrieving the create time have
been added to the smbc_setxattr() and smbc_getxattr() functions. An example
of setting all four times can be seen with the program

  examples/libsmbclient/testacl

with the following command line similar to:

  testacl -f -S "system.*:CREATE_TIME:1000000000,ACCESS_TIME:1000000060,WRITE_TIME:1000000120,CHANGE_TIME:1000000180" 'smb://server/share/testfile.txt'

The -f option turns on the new mode which uses full time names in the
attribute specification (e.g. ACCESS_TIME vs A_TIME).

with a dfs_info_0 structure and WERR_OK (observed from w2k3 when talking
to nt4).

fe348fdb28 r17216: From Kai Blin <kai.blin@gmail.com>:
A patch to make ntlm_auth recognize three new commands in
ntlmssp-client-1 and squid-2.5-ntlmssp:

The commands are the following:

Command: SF <hex number>
Reply: OK
Description: Takes feature request flags similar to samba4's
gensec_want_feature() call. So far, only NTLMSSP_FEATURE_SESSION_KEY,
NTLMSSP_FEATURE_SIGN and NTLMSSP_FEATURE_SEAL are implemented, using the same
values as the corresponding GENSEC_FEATURE_* flags in samba4.

Command: GF
Reply: GF <hex number>
Description: Returns the negotiated flags.

Command: GK
Reply: GK <base64 encoded session key>
Description: Returns the negotiated session key.

(These commands assist a wine project to use ntlm_auth for signing and
sealing of bulk data).

ba72b0242e r17179: Merge the vl-posixacls tmp branch into mainline. It
modularizes our interface into the special posix API used on
the system. Without this patch the specific API flavor is
determined at compile time, something which severely limits
usability on systems with more than one file system. Our
first targets are AIX with its JFS and JFS2 APIs, at a later
stage also GPFS. But it's certainly not limited to IBM
stuff, this abstraction is also necessary for anything that
copes with NFSv4 ACLs. For this we will check in handling
very soon.

Major contributions can be found in the copyright notices as
well as the checkin log of the vl-posixacls branch. The
final merge to 3_0 post-3.0.23 was done by Peter Somogyi
