[BUG] fix binary stick-tables

As reported by Lauri-Alo Adamson, version 1.5-dev6 doesn't support
stick-tables with a binary type.
This issue was introduced in the commit 4f92d32 where a line was erroneously
deleted, and is 1.5-specific.
