The rt5682s driver switches its regmap to cache-only when the
device suspends and back to regular mode on resume. When the
jack detect interrupt fires rt5682s_irq() schedules the jack
detect work. This can result in invalid reads from the regmap
in cache-only mode if the work runs before the device has
resumed:
[ 19.672162] rt5682s 2-001a: ASoC: error at soc_component_read_no_lock on rt5682s.2-001a for register: [0x000000f0] -16
Disable the jack detection interrupt during suspend and
re-enable it on resume. The driver already schedules the
jack detection work on resume, so any state change during
suspend is still handled.

When the 'ti,gpio-config' property is not defined, the
device_property_count_u32() will return an error, rather than zero.
The current check, only handles a return value of zero, which assumes that
the property is defined and has nothing defined.
This change extends the check to also check for an error case (most likely
to be hit by the case that the 'ti,gpio-config' is not defined).
In case that the 'ti,gpio-config' and the returned 'gpio_count' is not
correct, there is a 'if (gpio_count != ADCX140_NUM_GPIO_CFGS)' check, a few
lines lower that will return -EINVAL.
This means that someone tried to define 'ti,gpio-config', but with the
wrong number of GPIOs.

From q6dsp side issues are around locking of position pointer and handle
multiple prepare cases along with pulse audio timerbased scheduling workaround.
From LPASS codec side most of the staiblity issues were around runtime pm,
hitting various issues as the codec was firstly resetting the soundwire block
for every clk disable/enable which is taking the slaves out of sync and
resulting in re-enumerating. Second issue was around fsgen clk is not
brining up the codec out of suspend as it was not added after
runtime pm enabled. Final issue was with codec mclk rate which should
have been 192KHz same as npl instead of 96KHz. We were getting lucky as
wsa drivers are setting the same clk to 192KHz.
With this patches, x13s audio is pretty stable.

There's some setup we need to do in order to get the DSP initialized,
and this can't be done until a bit-clock is ready. In an earlier version
of this driver, this work was done in a DAPM callback.
The DAPM callback doesn't guarantee that the bit-clock is running, so
the work was moved instead to the trigger callback. Unfortunately this
callback runs in atomic context, and the setup code needs to do I2C
transactions.
Here we use a work_struct to kick off the setup in a thread instead.

idle_bias_on was set because cs42l42 has a "VMID" type pseudo-midrail
supply (named FILT+), and these typically take a long time to charge.
But the driver never enabled pm_runtime so it would never have powered-
down the cs42l42 anyway.
In fact, FILT+ can charge to operating voltage within 12.5 milliseconds
of enabling HP or ADC. This time is already covered by the startup
delay of the HP/ADC.
The datasheet warning about FILT+ taking up to 1 second to charge only
applies in the special cases that either the PLL is started or
DETECT_MODE set to non-zero while both HP and ADC are off. The driver
never does either of these.
Removing idle_bias_on allows the Soundwire host controller to suspend
if there isn't a snd_soc_jack handler registered.

This adds support for using CS42L42 as a SoundWire device.
SoundWire-specifics are kept separate from the I2S implementation as
much as possible, aiming to limit the risk of breaking the I2C+I2S
support.
There are some important differences in the silicon behaviour between
I2S and SoundWire mode that are reflected in the implementation:
- ASP (I2S) most not be used in SoundWire mode because the two interfaces
share pins.
- The SoundWire capture (record) port only supports 1 channel. It does
not have left-to-right duplication like the ASP.
- DP2 can only be prepared if the HP has powered-up. DP1 can only be
prepared if the ADC has powered-up. (This ordering restriction does
not exist for ASPs.) The SoundWire core port-prepare step is
triggered by the DAI-link prepare(). This happens before the
codec DAI prepare() or the DAPM sequence so these cannot be used
to enable HP/ADC. Instead the HP/ADC enable/disable are done during
the port_prep callback.
- The SRCs are an integral part of the audio chain but in silicon their
power control is linked to the ASP. There is no equivalent power link
to SoundWire DPs so the driver must take "manual" control of SRC power.
- The SoundWire control registers occupy the lower part of the SoundWire
address space so cs42l42 registers are offset by 0x8000 (non-paged) in
SoundWire mode.
- Register addresses are 8-bit paged in I2C mode but 16-bit unpaged in
SoundWire.
- Special procedures are needed on register read/writes to (a) ensure
that the previous internal bus transaction has completed, and
(b) handle delayed read results, when the read value could not be
returned within the SoundWire read command.
There are also some differences in driver implementation between I2S
and SoundWire operation:
- CS42L42 I2S does not runtime_suspend, but runtime_suspend/resume support
has been added into the driver in SoundWire mode as the most convenient
way to power-up the bus manager and to handle the unattach_request
condition, though the CS42L42 chip does not itself suspend or resume.
- Intel SoundWire host controllers have a low-power clock-stop mode that
requires resetting all peripherals when resuming. This means that the
interrupt registers will be reset in between the interrupt being
generated and the interrupt being handled, and since the interrupt
status is debounced, these values may not be accurate immediately,
and may cause spurious unplug events before settling.
- As in I2S mode, the PLL is only used while audio is active because
of clocking quirks in the silicon. For SoundWire the cs42l42_pll_config()
is deferred until the DAI prepare(), to allow the cs42l42_bus_config()
callback to set the SCLK.

The chosen clocking configuration must give an internal MCLK (MCLKint)
that is an integer multiple of the sample rate.
On I2S each of the supported bit clock frequencies can only be generated
from one sample rate group (either the 44100 or the 48000) so the code
could use only the bitclock to look up a PLL config.
The relationship between sample rate and bitclock frequency is more
complex on Soundwire and so it is possible to set a frame shape to
generate a bitclock from the "wrong" group. For example 2*147 with a
48000 sample rate would give a bitclock of 14112000 which on I2S
could only be derived from a 44100 sample rate.

Set the reserved bit 7 in the ANALOG_CTRL_REG for the TAS5720A-Q1 device,

The datasheet mentions that the bit should be 1 during reset/powerup.
The device did not initialize before setting this value to 1. So, this
could be a quirk of this device. Or it could be a quirk with the board on

That is why this patch is separate from the patch that adds support for the

the DT probing never uses data from the DT properties, as the
platform_data structure gets overwritten directly after it

There have never been any boards defining the platform_data in

with patched kernels or with the default values.

The shutdown GPIO is active low (SD_N), but this depends on actual board
layout. Linux drivers should only care about logical state, where high
(1) means shutdown and low (0) means do not shutdown.
Invert the GPIO to match logical value while preserving backwards DTB
compatibility. It is not possible to detect whether ACTIVE_HIGH flag in
DTB is because it is an old DTB (using incorrect flag) or it is a new
DTB with a correct hardware pin polarity description. Therefore the
solution prioritizes backwards compatibility while relying on relevant
DTS being upstreamed.

spent time. This exists one case, when pcm is closed and dev PM is

suspend won't be called. It makes the rt9120 suspend consumption

caller is platform core code doing:
if (drv->remove) {

equivalent and simpler.

The recently added pcm-test selftest has pointed out that systems with
the tda998x driver end up advertising that they support capture when in
reality as far as I can see the tda998x devices are transmit only. The
DAIs registered through hdmi-codec are bidirectional, meaning that for
I2S systems when combined with a typical bidrectional CPU DAI the
overall capability of the PCM is bidirectional. In most cases the I2S
links will clock OK but no useful audio will be returned which isn't so
bad but we should still not advertise the useless capability, and some
systems may notice problems for example due to pinmux management.
This is happening due to the hdmi-codec helpers not providing any
mechanism for indicating unidirectional audio so add one and use it in
the tda998x driver. It is likely other hdmi-codec users are also
affected but I don't have those systems to hand.

Currently the hdmi-codec driver always registers both playback and capture
capabilities but for most systems there's no actual capture capability,
usually HDMI is transmit only. Provide platform data which allows the users
to indicate what is supported so that we don't end up advertising things
to userspace that we can't actually support.
In order to avoid breaking existing users the flags in platform data are
a bit awkward and specify what should be disabled rather than doing the
perhaps more expected thing and defaulting to not supporting capture.

To solve this issue better, the new mechanism setup
ground switches with conditional delay control
and these allow for more stabile detection process
to operate as intended. This conditional delay control
will not impact the hardware process

The DAPM control for PGAx uses the PGA mute bit for
power management. This bit is active high but is set to
non-inverted (ie when powering, it will mute).
The ALSA control "PGA x Capture Switch" uses the active
high PGA_ENx bit, but is set to inverted. So when
enabling this switch, the PGA gets disabled.
To correct the behaviour, invert both these bits.

Use EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS_GPL() instead of EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL() and patch the
three drivers that use cs_dsp to add the MODULE_IMPORT_NS().
To make the namespace more specific the KConfig symbol for cs_dsp is
changed from CS_DSP to FW_CS_DSP.
Merge series from Richard Fitzgerald <rf@opensource.cirrus.com>:
Writing a firmware control should be returning 1 if the control value
changed, so these two patches add that.
Though this is an ALSA requirement it is also useful for non-ALSA clients
of cs_dsp to know if the control value changed, so the main handling is
implemented in cs_dsp. TLV controls are specifically an ALSA thing so they
are handled specially in wm_adsp.

indicate whether the control value changed. A return code of 1 indicates

There are some Dell SKUs that need to set the parameters of the
crossover filter (biquad). Each amplifier connects to one tweeter
speaker and one woofer speaker. We should control HPF/LPF to output the
proper frequency for the different speakers. If the codec driver got
the BQ parameters from the device property, it will apply these
parameters to the hardware.
If we have several instances of WSA macro, each one of them should
register clock with unique name, so parse clock-output-names for this.

Switch the driver from legacy gpio API that is deprecated to the newer
gpiod API that respects line polarities described in ACPI/DT.
The driver still tries to support shared reset lines, by first trying to
allocate the reset GPIO normally, and then non-exclusively, although the
utility of such support is questionable, toggling reset line from one
driver/instance will result in all chips being reset, potentially at an
inopportune moment.
Note that this change depends on commit fbbbcd177a ("gpiolib: of: add
quirk for locating reset lines with legacy bindings") to translate
request for "reset" GPIO to the legacy name "gpio-reset" in case when
proper name is not used.

Merge series from Peter Ujfalusi <peter.ujfalusi@linux.intel.com>:
In IPC4 all DSP loadable executable is a 'library' containing modules. The main
or basefw is also a library which contains multiple modules.
IPC4 allows to use loadable libraries to extend the functionality of the booted
basefw.
This series adds support for loading external libraries in case they are needed
by the loaded topology file.
The libraries must be placed to a specific firmware directory (fw_lib_prefix),
which is:
intel/avs-lib|sof-ipc4-lib/ followed by the platform name and in case of
community key use a 'community' directory.
For example for upx-i11 (community key): intel/avs-lib/tgl/community is the
default path.
The name of the library should be the UUID of the module it contains since the
library loading is going to look for the file as <module_UUID>.bin
In case there is a need to bundle multiple modules into single library, symlinks
can be used to point to the file:
module_boundle.bin
<UUID1>.bin -> module_boundle.bin
<UUID2>.bin -> module_boundle.bin
<UUID3>.bin -> module_boundle.bin
But note that in this case all modules will be loaded to the DSP since only the
whole library can be loaded, not individual modules.
We have two helpers with confusing names and different purposes.
Rename bus_get_link() and bus_get_link_at() as bus_get_hlink_by_name()

These are random cleanup for soc-dpam.c/h.
Basically, these are just cleanup, nothing changed.
Don't populate the read-only array ramp_base on the stack but
instead make it static const. Also makes the object code a
little smaller.

Currently snd_soc_dapm_free_widget() is assuming input parameter is
non NULL. Thus, caller need to care about it.
This patch care it at snd_soc_dapm_free_widget().

This series adds devicetree support for the Wolfson WM8961 codec. The
first patch adds a schema, the second patch hooks it up in the code, and
the third patch allows it to be selected in Kconfig.
Merge series from Cezary Rojewski <cezary.rojewski@intel.com>:
Two fixes are leading the way - one addresses the incorrect DMA mask
assignment (typo) at driver probe. The other, fixes a potential buffer
overflow when copying data received from firmware to kernel buffer.
However unlikely, the fix should still be there.
Then a range of patches providing the support for:
- AML with rt286 (machine board)
- KBL-R for rt298 (codec)
- KBL-R with rt298 (machine board)
- APL/KBL with da7219 (machine board)
- Addition of all the missing SKL-based PCI ids to core.c
Of the remaining changes, only one stands out - special case is provided
for "unsupported" IPCs. The driver supports a range of platforms,
however, on some generations given IPC may not be supported. Such call
shall not be treated as "invalid" - those are two different scenarios.
Everything else in the patchset is mostly a readability improvement:
spelling fixes and log messages issues, code simplification.
Merge series from Siarhei Volkau <lis8215@gmail.com>:
The patchset fixes:
- Line In path stays powered off during capturing or
bypass to mixer.
- incorrectly represented dB values in alsamixer, et al.
- incorrect represented Capture input selector in alsamixer
in Playback tab.
- wrong control selected as Capture Master
The patchset improves:
- Exposes output stage (post mixer) gain control and makes it new
Master playback gain, DAC gain was the previous master.
However, no Master mute now.
- Exposes all mixer inputs (both Mics, LineIn and DAC) with their
gain controls.
- Exposes microphones widgets: single/differential input, boost.
Known issues:
- Bypass path enablement isn't applied immediately, for make
things going bit clock needs to be triggered for a bit,
e.g. by aplay dummy.wav
It might be a hardware bug, since the bit clock isn't
declared as required for codec operation.
Tested on:
- Ritmix RZX-27 (jz4725b).
- Ritmix RZX-50 (jz4755).

The Mixer couples analog input from 4 sources (DAC, Line In, Mic 1,
Mic 2) each input has its own gain & mute controls.
At the moment only DAC is implemented fully and Line In path can be
switched on/off. The patch implements Mic 1 and Mic 2 paths and fully
implements Line In path.
Manual states that these controls (16.6.3.3 Programmable attenuation:
GOi) gain varies from -22.5dB to +6.0dB with 1.5dB step. Also there's
extra values below the minimum, but they behave the same as the minimum
value.

At the moment DAC control is used as Master Playback control, this is
incorrect as DAC's output goes to a Mixer.
The Mixer couples analog input from 4 sources (DAC, Line In, Mic 1,
Mic 2) each input has its own gain & mute controls.
Output of the Mixer goes to Output Stage control which is the best suite
for the new Playback Master. However, it doesn't have mute capability.
The patch implements Output Stage control as a new master and renames
old Master to DAC. Rest of mixer inputs will be implemented in the next
patch in the series.
Manual states that Output stage control (16.6.3.5 Programmable output
amplifier: PGAT) gain varies from -33.5dB to +4.5dB, gain step isn't
fixed and has 3 opts.

Line In Bypass control is used as Master Capture at the moment
this is completely incorrect.
Current control routed to Mixer instead of ADC, thus can't affect
Capture path. ADC control shall be used instead.
ADC volume control parameters are different, so the patch fixes that
as well. Manual says (16.6.3.2 Programmable input attenuation amplifier:
PGATM) that gain varies in range 0dB..22.5dB with 1.5dB step.

and it reports wrong levels in alsamixer and other alsa apps.

from -22.5dB to 0dB with 1.5dB step.

In wm8962 driver, the WM8962_ADDITIONAL_CONTROL_4 is used as a volatile
register, but this register mixes a bunch of volatile status bits and a
bunch of non-volatile control bits. The dapm widgets TEMP_HP and
TEMP_SPK leverages the control bits in this register. After the wm8962
probe, the regmap will bet set to cache only mode, then a read error
like below would be triggered when trying to read the initial power
state of the dapm widgets TEMP_HP and TEMP_SPK.
wm8962 0-001a: ASoC: error at soc_component_read_no_lock
on wm8962.0-001a: -16
In order to fix this issue, we add event handler to actually power
up/down these widgets. With this change, we also need to explicitly
power off these widgets in the wm8962 probe since they are enabled
by default.
