16d286e656 Merge branch 'core-rcu-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tip/tip
Pull RCU changes from Ingo Molnar:
"Quoting from Paul, the major features of this series are:

  1. Preventing latency spikes of more than 200 microseconds for
kernels built with NR_CPUS=4096, which is reportedly becoming the
default for some distros. This is a first step, as it does not
help with systems that actually -have- 4096 CPUs (work on this case
is in progress, but is not yet ready for mainline).

This category also includes improving concurrency of rcu_barrier(),
placed here due to conflicts. Posted to LKML at:

      https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/6/22/381

Note that patches 18-22 of that series have been defered to 3.7, as
they have not yet proven themselves to be mainline-ready (and yes,
these are the ones intended to get rid of RCU's latency spikes for
systems that actually have 4096 CPUs).

  2. Updates to documentation and rcutorture fixes, the latter category
including improvements to rcu_barrier() testing. Posted to LKML at

      http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1206.1/04094.html.

  3. Miscellaneous fixes posted to LKML at:

      https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/6/22/500

with the exception of the last commit, which was posted here:

      http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linux/kernel/1561830

  4. RCU_FAST_NO_HZ fixes and improvements. Posted to LKML at:

      http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1206.1/00006.html
      http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linux/kernel/1561833

The first four patches of the first series went into 3.5 to fix a
     regression.

  5. Code-style fixes. These were posted to LKML at

      http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1205.2/01180.html
      http://lkml.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/1205.2/01181.html"

27f8b13555 hwmon: Honeywell Humidicon HIH-6130/HIH-6131 humidity and temperature sensor driver
This is a new driver for the Honeywell Humidicon HIH-6130/HIH-6131 humidity sensor.

The driver is based on the existing Sensiron sht21 driver with the necessary changes
to the probe, update_measurements and conversion functions necessary to use the
Honeywell sensors.

There's no difference between the 6130 & 6131 other than the 6131 having an external
condensation filter attached.

9ca8f72a92 x86, efi: Handover Protocol
As things currently stand, traditional EFI boot loaders and the EFI
boot stub are carrying essentially the same initialisation code
required to setup an EFI machine for booting a kernel. There's really
no need to have this code in two places and the hope is that, with
this new protocol, initialisation and booting of the kernel can be
left solely to the kernel's EFI boot stub. The responsibilities of the
boot loader then become,

o Loading the kernel image from boot media

File system code still needs to be carried by boot loaders for the
scenario where the kernel and initrd files reside on a file system
that the EFI firmware doesn't natively understand, such as ext4, etc.

   o Providing a user interface

Boot loaders still need to display any menus/interfaces, for example
to allow the user to select from a list of kernels.

Bump the boot protocol number because we added the 'handover_offset'
field to indicate the location of the handover protocol entry point.

f9028317b2 Documentation: Add newline at end-of-file to files lacking one
This patch simply adds a newline character at end-of-file to those
files in Documentation/ that currently lack one.

This is done for a few different reasons:

A) It's rather annoying when you do "cat some_file.txt" that your
prompt/cursor ends up at the end of the last line of output rather
   than on a new line.

B) Some tools that process files line-by-line may get confused by the
lack of a newline on the last line.

C) The "\ No newline at end of file" line in diffs annoys me for some
   reason.

So, let's just add the missing newline once and for all.

67da22d23f net-tcp: Fast Open client - cookie-less mode
In trusted networks, e.g., intranet, data-center, the client does not
need to use Fast Open cookie to mitigate DoS attacks. In cookie-less

of cookie availability.

cf60af03ca net-tcp: Fast Open client - sendmsg(MSG_FASTOPEN)
sendmsg() (or sendto()) with MSG_FASTOPEN is a combo of connect(2)
and write(2). The application should replace connect() with it to
send data in the opening SYN packet.

For blocking socket, sendmsg() blocks until all the data are buffered
locally and the handshake is completed like connect() call. It
returns similar errno like connect() if the TCP handshake fails.

For non-blocking socket, it returns the number of bytes queued (and
transmitted in the SYN-data packet) if cookie is available. If cookie
is not available, it transmits a data-less SYN packet with Fast Open
cookie request option and returns -EINPROGRESS like connect().

Using MSG_FASTOPEN on connecting or connected socket will result in
simlar errno like repeating connect() calls. Therefore the application
should only use this flag on new sockets.

The buffer size of sendmsg() is independent of the MSS of the connection.

282f23c6ee tcp: implement RFC 5961 3.2
Implement the RFC 5691 mitigation against Blind
Reset attack using RST bit.

Idea is to validate incoming RST sequence,
to match RCV.NXT value, instead of previouly accepted
window : (RCV.NXT <= SEG.SEQ < RCV.NXT+RCV.WND)

If sequence is in window but not an exact match, send
a "challenge ACK", so that the other part can resend an
RST with the appropriate sequence.

Add a new sysctl, tcp_challenge_ack_limit, to limit
number of challenge ACK sent per second.

Add a new SNMP counter to count number of challenge acks sent.
(netstat -s | grep TCPChallengeACK)

In some cases we are forced to store individual records for a continuation

Export a flag to allow the external re-construction of the line. The flag
allows us to apply a similar logic externally which is used internally when
the console, /proc/kmsg or the syslog() output is printed.

ad95ad10b0 Documentation: Describe the AB8500 Device Tree bindings
Although for the most part, the AB8500 uses common bindings, some
of the ways in which they are used differ slightly to the common
uses of those bindings. To clear up some of these varying concepts
we provide some documentation describing each of the properties and
how they are used.

The original pin registers table is derived from u-boot mainline,

We added it at the bottom by following the exist pin function ids,
then it will not break the exist using of pin function id in dts file.
