ASoC: wm8958: Fix change notifications for DSP controls
The WM8958 DSP controls all return 0 on successful write, not a boolean
value indicating if the write changed the value of the control. Fix this
by returning 1 after a change, there is already a check at the start of
each put() that skips the function in the case that there is no change.

ASoC: soc-card: Create jack kcontrol without pins
snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins,
but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins
were not going to be added.

This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to
snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be
added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a
jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol.

ca17707f44 ALSA: cs35l41: Enable Internal Boost in shared lib
Internal Boost enable is the default option from reset, but with
external boost support, internal boost must be disabled.
Add the enable of internal boost in cs35l41_boost_config to

2603c974b4 ALSA: cs35l41: Check hw_config before using it
The driver can receive an empty hw_config, so mark as valid if
successfully read from device tree/ACPI or set by the driver itself.
Platforms not marked with a valid hw config will not be supported.

ASoC: codecs: wcd934x: do not switch off SIDO Buck when codec is in use
SIDO(Single-Inductor Dual-Ouput) Buck powers up both analog and digital
circuits along with internal memory, powering off this is the last thing
that codec should do when going to very low power.

Current code was powering off this Buck if there are no users of sysclk,
which is not correct. Powering off this buck will result in no register access.
This code path was never tested until recently after adding pm support
in SoundWire controller. Fix this by removing the buck poweroff when the
codec is active and also the code that is not used.

Without this patch all the read/write transactions will never complete and
results in SLIMBus Errors like:

ASoC: rt711/5682: check if bus is active before deferred jack detection
This patch takes a defensive programming and paranoid approach in case
the parent device (SoundWire) is pm_runtime resumed but the rt711
device is not. In that case, during the attachment and initialization,
a jack detection workqueue can be scheduled. Since the pm_runtime
suspend routines will not be invoked, the sequence to cancel all
deferred work is not executed, and the jack detection could happen
after the bus stops operating, leading to a timeout.

This patch applies the same solution to rt5682, based on the
similarities between codec drivers. The race condition with rt5682 was
not detected experimentally though.

ASoC: ak4613: add TDM256 test support

Renesas is the only user of ak4613 driver on upstream for now.
It has STEREO/TDM512/TDM256/TDM128 mode, but STEREO only is used,
because of Renesas board connection.

I noticed that I can test first 2ch out of TDM256 mode 8ch
Playback even in such a situation.

Thus, current driver is supporting STEREO mode only, and other
modes are not supported.

and/or other TDM mode. Thus I don't want to add new DT propaty for now.
This patch enables TDM256 mode test by "ifdef style",
but it has no effect to current supported STEREO mode.
You can define AK4613_ENABLE_TDM_TEST to try TDM256 mode.

Please don't hesitate to break current code if you can add full TDM256
and/or other TDM mode. You don't need to care compatibility with Renesas.

The bug is here:
	if (!dai) {

The list iterator value 'dai' will *always* be set and non-NULL
by for_each_component_dais(), so it is incorrect to assume that
the iterator value will be NULL if the list is empty or no element
is found (In fact, it will be a bogus pointer to an invalid struct
object containing the HEAD). Otherwise it will bypass the check
'if (!dai) {' (never call dev_err() and never return -ENODEV;)
and lead to invalid memory access lately when calling
'rt5682_set_bclk1_ratio(dai, factor);'.

To fix the bug, just return rt5682_set_bclk1_ratio(dai, factor);
when found the 'dai', otherwise dev_err() and return -ENODEV;

Placing both the I2C and SPI code in the same module causes problems with
mixes of modular and non-modular builds of the buses so it's generally bad
practice. As with other drivers split the bus code out of the WM8731 driver

ASoC: wm8731: Factor component init out of bus code
Both the I2C and SPI bus code register the component immediately after they
call wm8731_hw_init(), factor the code out into the the common function and
rename it to just be plain wm8731_init() while we're at it since it's not
just for hardware init any more. This refactoring means we need to move the
function after the declaration of the component driver.

audio amplifier. It's fairly simple - the main difference to
simple-amplifier is that there is a "one-wire pulse control" that

the power limit for the amplifier).

ASoC: cs42l42: Add warnings about DETECT_MODE and PLL_START
DETECT_MODE and PLL_START must be zero while HP_PDN and ADC_PDN are
both 1. If this condition is broken it can discharge FILT+ and it
can then take up to 1 second for FILT+ to recharge.

There is no workaround required for this, simply avoiding settings
and sequences that would break the requirement. The driver already
meets the requirement.

But it is not obvious from reading the code that this requirement
exists, or what is ensuring it is met. So it would not currently be
obvious to someone changing the code that there is certain special
behaviour that must be maintained.

To avoid accidental breakage in the future:

- Add comments into the register definitions to warn about this so
  that anyone changing the code around DETECT_MODE and PLL_START is
  aware of this requirement.

- Add a comment where PLL_START is written to 1 to highlight the
  requirement and why it is satisfied.

- Add a comment in cs42l42_setup_hs_type_detect() when DETECT_MODE is
  initialized.

ASoC: wm_adsp: Expand firmware loading search options
The parts supported by this driver can have product-specific
firmware and tunings files. Typically these have been used on
embedded systems where the manufacturer is responsible for
installing the correct product-specific firmware files into
/lib/firmware. However, the linux-firmware repository places all
available firmwares into /lib/firmware and it is up to the driver to
select the correct product-specific firmware from that directory.

For example a product containing four smart amplifiers may provide
firmware specific for that product and each of the amplifiers may
have coefficient files containing tunings for their placement in the
mechanical design.

This change extends firmware (wmfw) and coefficient (bin) filenames
to be of the general form:

<cirrus/>part-dspN-fwtype<-system_name<-asoc_component_prefix>>.type

Where the cirrus subdirectory, system_name and asoc_component_prefix
are optional.

New files will be placed in the cirrus subdirectory to avoid
polluting the main /lib/firmware/ location. The generic name must be
searched in /lib/firmware before /lib/firmware/cirrus so that a
generic file in the new location does not override existing
product-specific files in the legacy location.

The search order for firmware files is:
  - cirrus/part-dspN-fwtype-system_name-asoc_component_prefix.wmfw
  - cirrus/part-dspN-fwtype-system_name.wmfw
  - part-dspN-fwtype.wmfw
  - cirrus/part-dspN-fwtype.wmfw

- Qualifications are added to the filename so that rightwards is more
  specific.
- The system_name is provided by the codec driver.
- The asoc_component_prefix is used to identify tunings for individual
  parts because it would already exist to disambiguate the controls
  and it makes it obvious which firmware file applies to which device.

The optional coefficient file must have the same filename
construction as the discovered wmfw except:
  - where the wmfw has only system_name then the bin file can
    optionally include the asoc_component_prefix. This is to allow a
    common wmfw for all amps but separate tunings per amp.

ASoC: hdac_hda: Avoid unexpected match when pcm_name is "Analog"
pcm name can be "Analog" and "Alt Analog", cpcm->name can be
"Analog Codec DAI" and "Alt Analog Codec DAI". When pcm_name
is "Analog", "Analog Codec DAI" and "Alt Analog Codec DAI" are
both satisfy the 'if (strstr(cpcm->name, pcm_name))' condition,
which may cause the returned cpcm to be "Alt Analog Codec DAI".

Even if we get the pcm name by id, and "Analog Codec DAI" goes
into the loop before "Alt Analog Codec DAI", but I still think
we'd better have multiple insurances against unexpected return
values. After, we can correctly return the expected result
even if other relevant places are changed.

WSA SoundWire Controller does not support Clock stop and performs a soft reset
on suspend  resume path. Its recommended that WSA881x codecs connected to this
are also reset using a hard reset during suspend resume.

Merge series from Srinivas Kandagatla <srinivas.kandagatla@linaro.org>:

This patchset adds support for runtime pm on tx/rx/wsa/wcd lpass macro,
wsa881x and wcd938x codecs that are wired up on SoundWire bus.  During
pm testing it was also found that soundwire clks enabled by lpass macros
are not enabling all the required clocks correctly, so last 3 patches
corrects them.

Tested this on SM8250 MTP along SoundWire In band Headset Button wakeup
interrupts.

Some powers were changed during the jack insert detection and clk's

Accessing enums using integer would result in array out of bounds access
on platforms like aarch64 where sizeof(long) is 8 compared to enum size
which is 4 bytes.

Currently, the following error messages are seen during boot:

Quoting Mark Brown:

"The driver is just plain buggy, it defines both a regular SPIDF Switch
control and a SND_SOC_DAPM_SWITCH() called SPDIF both of which will
create an identically named control, it can never have loaded without
error.  One or both of those has to be renamed or they need to be
merged into one thing."

Fix the duplicated control name by combining the two SPDIF controls here
and move the register bits onto the DAPM widget and have DAPM control them.

ASoC: codec: wm8960: complete discharge on BIAS OFF->STANDBY
On BIAS STANDBY->OFF transition the current implementation sleeps
600ms on suspend in order to discharge the chip. The suspend is
propagated from "snd_soc_suspend" call for all audio cards in a
serial fashion, thus in case of boards like i.MX8DXL EVK which has
3 distinct WM8960 codecs the total cumulated sleep on suspend is 1.8
seconds.

On the other hand the BIAS OFF->STANDBY transition happens
asynchronously with regard to "snd_soc_resume" - the call is
propagated from "soc_resume_deferred" which is just scheduled
from "snd_soc_resume", each card having its own work scheduled to
execute "soc_resume_deferred" call.

The patch performs discharge completion on BIAS OFF->STANDBY transition
so that the cumulated effect on suspend described above is avoided
and discharge is completed in paralel in case of multiple WM8960
codecs on the board.

ASoC: pcm3168a: cleanup unintuitive mask usage
When checking if the requested parameters are supported, the driver uses
PCM3168A_FMT_DSP_MASK to check for PCM3168A_FMT_DSP_* values.

However, formally not only PCM3168A_FMT_DSP_* values match that
condition, PCM3168A_FMT_I2S_TDM and PCM3168A_FMT_LEFT_J_TDM also do.

The check still gives correct result because those extra values can't
be in 'fmt' at the check location. Still, to make the code less cryptic,
better to compare 'fmt' with PCM3168A_FMT_DSP_* values explicitly.

ASoC: wm_adsp: Make compressed buffers optional
Newer firmwares will support compressed buffers that may or may not
exist, for example debugging streams. Update the driver to make a
compressed stream optional. A warning will still be generated at DSP
boot time and opening the stream will fail if the compressed buffer in
question does not exist, however the DSP can still be booted and other
features used.

ASoC: tlv320adc3xxx: Add IIR filter configuration
The TLV320ADC3001/3101 have an internal DSP, which can either be
used in various preset configurations (called "Processing Blocks"
in the data sheet), or as a freely programmable (using the
"PurePath Studio" graphical programming tool from TI) but rather
small DSP ("miniDSP").

Using the default configuration (PRB_R1) it's possible to set up
filtering using a first-order IIR, which can be useful for adding
a digital high pass filter to the signal chain, for instance.

This patch adds support for configuring the IIR filter coefficients.
The filter itself is always enabled; the default coefficients
implement a pass-through function.

ASoC: wm_adsp: Correct control read size when parsing compressed buffer
When parsing the compressed stream the whole buffer descriptor is
now read in a single cs_dsp_coeff_read_ctrl; on older firmwares
this descriptor is just 4 bytes but on more modern firmwares it is
24 bytes. The current code reads the full 24 bytes regardless, this
was working but reading junk for the last 20 bytes. However commit
f444da38ac ("firmware: cs_dsp: Add offset to cs_dsp read/write")
added a size check into cs_dsp_coeff_read_ctrl, causing the older
firmwares to now return an error.

Update the code to only read the amount of data appropriate for
the firmware loaded.

spi: make remove callback a void function
The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)

So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

ASoC: simple-mux: Depend on gpiolib rather than selecting it
The simple-mux driver requires gpiolib. Currently it selects GPIOLIB but
since the use of select can lead to issues with randconfig let's instead
depend on GPIOLIB, select is more idiomatically used for Kconfig symbols
that are not user selectable but GPIOLIB is user selectable.

The current rt5682_jack_detect_handler() assumes the component
and card will always show up and implements an infinite usleep
loop waiting for them to show up.

This does not hold true if a codec interrupt (or other
event) occurs when the card is unbound. The codec driver's
remove  or shutdown functions cannot cancel the workqueue due
to the wait loop. As a result, code can either end up blocking
the workqueue, or hit a kernel oops when the card is freed.

Fix the issue by rescheduling the jack detect handler in
case the card is not ready. In case card never shows up,
the shutdown/remove/suspend calls can now cancel the detect
task.

and card will always show up and implements an infinite usleep
loop waiting for them to show up.

This does not hold true if a codec interrupt (or other
event) occurs when the card is unbound. The codec driver's
remove  or shutdown functions cannot cancel the workqueue due
to the wait loop. As a result, code can either end up blocking
the workqueue, or hit a kernel oops when the card is freed.

Fix the issue by rescheduling the jack detect handler in
case the card is not ready. In case card never shows up,
the shutdown/remove/suspend calls can now cancel the detect
task.

ASoC: madera: Add dependencies on MFD
The Madera CODECs use regmap_irq functions but nothing ensures that
regmap_irq is built into the kernel. Add dependencies on the ASoC
symbols for the relevant MFD component. There is no point in building
the ASoC driver if the MFD doesn't support it and the MFD part contains
the necessary dependencies to ensure everything is built into the
kernel.

ASoC: wm8962: Allow switching between analog and digital inputs
When the DMIC_ENA bit is set the analogue inputs are disconnected from
the digital core of the chip, in favour of the digital microphones.
Currently the driver will always enable DMIC_ENA whilst the GPIOs are
configured for the DMIC function, this means the user can't currently
use both the analog inputs and the digital inputs in one system.

Add an additional DAPM mutex that allows switching between analog and
digital inputs into the digital core.

ASoC: cs42l51: Improve error handling in cs42l51_remove()
When disabling a regulator fails while the device goes away, there is
little we can do and the machine is probably in enough trouble that any
action we'd want to take fails anyhow.

The return value used to be passed on in cs42l51_i2c_remove() (i.e. the
i2c device remove callback). But the i2c core ignores the error code
(apart from emitting a generic warning) and removes the device anyhow.

So return 0 unconditionally in cs42l51_i2c_remove(), and instead of
returning the error code to the upper layer emit a more helpful warning
message. After that nobody is interested any more in the actual error
code, so let cs42l51_remove() return void.

ASoC: rt5682: Fix deadlock on resume
On resume from suspend the following chain of events can happen:
A rt5682_resume() -> mod_delayed_work() for jack_detect_work
B DAPM sequence starts ( DAPM is locked now)

A1. rt5682_jack_detect_handler() scheduled
 - Takes both jdet_mutex and calibrate_mutex
 - Calls in to rt5682_headset_detect() which tries to take DAPM lock, it
   starts to wait for it as B path took it already.
B1. DAPM sequence reaches the "HP Amp", rt5682_hp_event() tries to take
    the jdet_mutex, but it is locked in A1, so it waits.

Deadlock.

To solve the deadlock, drop the jdet_mutex, use the jack_detect_work to do
the jack removal handling, move the dapm lock up one level to protect the
most of the rt5682_jack_detect_handler(), but not the jack reporting as it
might trigger a DAPM sequence.
The rt5682_headset_detect() can be changed to static as well.

Mixer controls have the channel id in mixer->reg, which is not same
as port id. port id should be derived from chan_info array.
So fix this. Without this, its possible that we could corrupt

ASoC: cs42l42: Handle system suspend
Add system suspend functions to handle clean power-down on suspend and
restoring registers on resume.

The jack state could change during suspend. Plug->unplug and unplug->plug
are straightforward because this looks no different from any other plug
state change - there will be a plugged or unplugged interrupt pending.
The jack could be unplugged and a different type of jack plugged, and on
resume the plug state would not have changed. Setting plug_state back to
TS_TRANS (transitioning) will make the next plug interrupt after resume
run a type detection.

During system suspend any jack plug/unplug and button events will not be
reported or generate a system wakeup. If the plug state or headset type
has changed it will be reported after resume.

ASoC: cs42l42: Change jack_detect_mutex to a lock of all IRQ handling
Rename jack_detect_mutex to irq_lock and make it lock the entire IRQ
handling.

The jack_detect_mutex was introduced to synchronize registering an
ALSA jack handler, via cs42l42_set_jack(), with the jack state
processing in the IRQ handler, and was taken only around the
relevant part of the IRQ handling code.

System suspend will need to synchronize with the IRQ handler thread
so will need a similar mutex that surrounds all of the IRQ handling.
Repurposing the existing jack_detect_mutex is the simplest option.
It does no harm for a call to cs42l42_set_jack() to additionally
block the first few lines of IRQ handling, and the only interrupts
used by the driver are all for jack handling.

ASoC: cs42l42: Report full jack status when plug is detected
When a plug event is detect report the full state of all status
bits, don't assume that there will have been a previous unplug
event to clear all the bits. Report the state of both HEADPHONE
and MICROPHONE bits according to detected type, and clear all the
button status bits. The current button status is already checked
and reported at the end of the function.

During a system suspend the jack could be unplugged and plugged,
possibly changing the jack type. On resume the interrupt status will
indicate a plug event - there will not be an unplug event to clear
the bits.

The Texas Instruments TAS5805M is a class D audio amplifier with an
integrated DSP. DSP configuration is supplied in a firmware image
specified through a device-tree attribute.

These register writes set up application-specific DSP settings and are
expected to be generated using TI's PPC3 tool.

ASoC: cs35l41: Update handling of test key registers
In preparation for the addition of PM runtime support move the test
key out of the register patches themselves. This is necessary to
allow the test key to be held during cache synchronisation, which is
required by the OTP settings which were unpacked from the device and
written by the driver.

Also whilst at it, the driver uses a mixture of accessing the test key
register by name and by address, consistently use the name.

ASoC: wcd9335: Keep a RX port value for each SLIM RX mux
Currently, rx_port_value is a single unsigned int that gets overwritten
when slim_rx_mux_put() is called for any RX mux, then the same value is
read when slim_rx_mux_get() is called for any of them. This results in
slim_rx_mux_get() reporting the last value set by slim_rx_mux_put()
regardless of which SLIM RX mux is in question.

Turn rx_port_value into an array and store a separate value for each
SLIM RX mux.

Some boards have the codec IRQ hooked-up as normally, so the driver can
still do things like headset vs headphones and button-press detection,
but instead of using one of the JD pins of the codec, an external GPIO
is used to report the jack-presence switch status of the jack.

Add support for this.

ASoC: rt5640: Allow snd_soc_component_set_jack() to override the codec IRQ
On some boards where the firmware/fwnode information is in essence
read-only (x86 + ACPI boards) the i2c_client for the codec may contain
the wrong IRQ or no IRQ at all.

Since we only request the IRQ once snd_soc_component_set_jack() gets
called, allow machine drivers to override the IRQ with the proper one
through the data parameter to snd_soc_component_set_jack().

ASoC: rt5640: Fix possible NULL pointer deref on resume
Commit 2b9c8d2b3c ("ASoC: rt5640: Add the HDA header support") adds
re-queuing of the jack_work on resume when rt5640->jd_src != 0.

But the jack_work will unconditionally deref rt5640->jack and that might
be NULL. E.g. the sound/soc/intel/boards/bytcr_rt5640.c machine driver
call snd_soc_component_set_jack(codec, NULL, NULL) from pre_suspend to
disable the IRQ to avoid spurious wakeups, so when rt5640_resume()
runs rt5640->jack will be NULL in this case.

Make the queueing of the work conditional on rt5640->jack instead of
on rt5640->jd_src to fix this.

A randconfig caught a compile warning that is now treated as a fatal

As both suspend and resumes are already marked with __maybe_unused,

ASoC: wm_adsp: Add support for "toggle" preloaders
In the case a device can support retaining the firmware memory across
low power states it is useful for the preloader widget to only power up
whilst actually loading/unloading the core, as opposed to the normal
operation where the widget is powered for the entire time a firmware is
preloaded onto the core. Add support for this mode and a flag to enable
it.

ASoC: cs35l41: Correct handling of some registers in the cache
It makes no sense to cache the test/user key registers, since they
require values written at specific times, mark them volatile. It is
probably best if they can't be accessed from user-space either, so
mark them precious as well.

The interrupt force, edge, polarity and debounce are all settings
applied to the IRQ rather than status bits and as such should not be
volatile.

The OTP trim values will require re-application in the event of a
cache sync and as such should not be volatile. The OTPID however
should be volatile.

The DSP scratch registers are used to read back an error/debug code
from the DSP on shutdown, as such these should be marked volatile.

Finally, add some missing defaults, add TST_FS_MON0, and allow the
DSP core control register to be cached.

The wm_adsp_event should be called before the early_event on power
down, event stops the core running and early_event then powers down
the core. Additionally, the core should only be stopped if it was
actually running in the first place.

ASoC: cs35l41: Move power initializations to reg_sequence
ASoC and HDA systems for all revisions of CS35L41 will benefit
from having this initialization, so add it to reg_sequence of
each revision

By moving to reg_sequence all gains are set to zero. And boost,
monitoring parts, and class D amplifier are disabled.

ASoC: cs35l41: Convert tables to shared source code
To support CS35L41 in HDA systems the HDA driver
for CS35L41 would have to duplicate some functions
that already exist on ASoC driver
So instead of duplicate the code, use the new lib
source as a shared resource for both ASoC and HDA

Also, change the way CONFIG_SND_SOC_CS35L41 is
selected, as reported by Intel Kernel test robot,
it is possible to build SND_SOC_CS35L41_SPI/I2C
without the main driver, which would lead to build
failures.

ASoC: rt5682: Register wclk with its parent_hws instead of parent_data
The mclk might not be registered as a fixed clk name "mclk" on some
platforms.
In those platforms, if the mclk needed to be controlled by codec driver
and acquired by a fixed name, it would be a problem.

This patch to fix the issue that wclk becomes an orphan due to the fixed
mclk's name.

ASoC: cs4265: Fix part number ID error message
The Chip ID - Register 01h contains the following description
as per the CS4265 datasheet:

"Bits 7 through 4 are the part number ID, which is 1101b (0Dh)"

The current error message is incorrect as it prints CS4265_CHIP_ID,
which is the register number, instead of printing the expected
part number ID value.

To make it clearer, also do a shift by 4, so that the error message
would become:
