The new vkms virtual display code is atomic so there is no need to call drm_helper_disable_unused_functions() when it is enabled. Doing so can result in a segfault. When the driver switched from the old virtual display code to the new atomic virtual display code, it was missed that we enable virtual display unconditionally under SR-IOV so the checks here missed that case. Add the missing check for SR-IOV. There is no equivalent of this patch for Linus' tree because the relevant code no longer exists. This patch is only relevant to kernels 5.15 and 5.16. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
