Russell King says: ==================== net: eee network driver cleanups Since commit d1420bb99515 ("net: phy: improve generic EEE ethtool functions") changed phylib to set eee->eee_active and eee->eee_enabled, overriding anything that drivers have set these to prior to calling phy_ethtool_get_eee(). Therefore, drivers setting these members becomes redundant, since phylib overwrites the values they set. This series finishes off Heiner's work in the referenced commit by removing these redundant writes in various drivers and any associated code or structure members that become unnecessary. ==================== Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/Zb9/O81fVAZw4ANr@shell.armlinux.org.uk Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
